Annual World Wetlands Day Event 2013 - Kailua,HI - O‘ahu

Ho’olaulima and DLNR, Division of Forestry and Wildlife are looking forward to another fun community event to celebrate World Wetlands Day 2013 themed, Wetlands Take Care of Water.

This is the 6th year celebrating World Wetlands Day at the Hāmākua-Kawainui Marsh Complex our 2nd year at this great location. The site has ample parking, easy access to the Hāmākua-Kawainui Marsh Complex and Ulupo Heiau, and wonderful amenities that the church has been generous to share. We will have tours of the wetland, live music, and delicious local food and need your help to ensure we have the perfect kick-off at Kailua’s own superbowl.


Thise celebration will be dedicated to the life of Ron Walker.

Theme: Wetlands Take Care of Water


This year's theme is: Wetlands Take Care of Water. 
Wetlands take care of water, reflecting the interdependence between water and wetlands and the key role that wetlands play.  Wisely using our wetlands is an essential component of the delivery of sustainable water management. Who manages water and the challenges faced, including agricultural use, urban water management, water storage, and water diversion.

EXHIBITORS:

Snacks will be provided to exhibitors. Volunteers will be on site to help you set up. Exhibitors are allowed to sell items. Locations will be pre-assigned and based on the order in which exhibitors register, (so sign up soon for the best spots!). To alleviate some of last years confusion (mahalo for your patience!), exhibitors will receive a map prior to the event indicated with your designated space. We encourage you to tie your activity to the Super Bowl, which takes place the day after the event.


VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteers are invited to help with: parking, supporting exhibitor set-up and break-down, greeting guests, and leading wetland tours.
Snacks will be provided as well as documentation of service hours upon request.
